Stephanie James is a results-oriented and strategic attorney who works vigorously on behalf of her litigation clients.
Stephanie James focuses her practice on litigation, including healthcare litigation, nonsubscriber litigation, personal injury litigation, commercial litigation, construction disputes, employment disputes, and general civil litigation.
She represents healthcare providers, long-term care and skilled nursing facilities, hospitals and other healthcare-related companies in non-subscriber, employment, contract, and medical negligence disputes. She counsels and defends employers on unemployment, discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination claims. Stephanie routinely prosecutes and defends businesses in contract, insurance, unfair competition, and numerous other types of commercial litigation.
Stephanie’s recent successes include obtaining a unanimous jury verdict in favor of the owner of a multi-million-dollar strip shopping center in a suit for an alleged breach of restrictive covenants including claims for damages, injunctive relief, and attorneys’ fees; winning an arbitration of a multimillion-dollar, non-subscriber claim with a no liability finding; and winning a summary dismissal of civil rights claims brought against a police officer on appeal to the Fifth Circuit.
