Kenneth Fields has many passions outside of the law, including remembering and preserving important historical events and items. He spent a quarter of a century, and made three trips to Papua New Guinea, in connection with recovering a World War II B -17 Flying Fortress bomber from his father’s squadron, which was intact in a New Guinea swamp. That aircraft is now on display in a seaplane hangar on Ford Island at Pearl Harbor, Oahu. He has also engaged in many historical reenactments, including, as a Confederate infantryman, reenacting the battles of Gettysburg and Appomattox; as a US Cavalry Trooper, reenacting Red River War Battles at Adobe Walls, Buffalo Wallo, and Palo Duro Canyon, and other Texas Panhandle sites. He is also a Life Member of the Commemorative Air Force and created the CAF American Combat Airman Hall of Fame. He Co-Chaired it for 14 years and honored Americans who fought for freedom in the air services with a particular emphasis on World War II veterans.
He has been a Ruling Elder, Trustee, and Clerk of Session for the Pampa First Presbyterian. He also raises purebred Polled Hereford cattle on land held by his family for more than 112 years.
