After 32 years of a successful renewable energy and real estate practice, James Wester has retired but continues to serve as strategic and valuable counsel for the firm’s clients and attorneys.
Prior to his retirement, James Wester was active in Underwood’s Renewable Energy Group, where he helped landowners lease their land for renewable energy initiatives and worked with a variety of clients including developers, school districts, hospital districts, and transmission service providers on contract negotiation and development. Another large part of his practice was maximizing economic incentives for renewable energy projects through tax abatement agreements and tax limitation agreements.
In addition to renewable energy, he had a robust real estate practice working with agricultural, commercial, and residential real estate clients on acquisitions, financing, development, and construction.
James continues to use his extensive experience and historical knowledge to serve as a valuable resource for attorneys within the firm.
