John Atkins’ responsiveness and attention to detail have been instrumental in his success helping clients negotiate economic development agreements that drive job creation and capital growth in Texas.
John Atkins’ focus is business and corporate law, real estate law, and economic development matters. John Atkins represents several Texas economic development corporations and has facilitated projects resulting in billions of dollars in capital expenditures and the creation and retention of thousands of new jobs. His practice includes mergers and acquisitions, commercial and corporate transactions, real estate transactions, intellectual property (including trademark registration applications), corporate formation and governance matters, and exempt private placement securities transactions (both under Texas and other state laws and Rule 506 of Regulation D).
In addition to negotiating economic development agreements that have incentivized global and national corporations to bring jobs and capital to the region, John Atkins has successfully represented a range of clients, including the nation’s first producer-owned fed cattle beef production facility, hotel developers, oil and gas equipment companies, a 445-bed hospital, a diesel fuel pipeline seller, and the buyer of the largest contiguous ranch in the United States.
Argued before the 7th Court of Appeals and the Texas Supreme Court.
Represented the purchaser of a 510,000-acre ranch, the largest under one fence in the United States.
